Why being single is a blessing...

Being single is great! A lot of people think of it as a downer, they feel lonely, and less as a person, because they aren't in love with that special person. Being single is actually quite a blessing. It' a way to find out who we are in the good Lord.
One thing about being single, is that you have time to shoot for personal goals, and to pursue some of your passions, without having to compromise for the other person. You also have the chance to travel around and to meet new people. You are blessed with time to do what you want, and to grow closer to our Lord, finding out who He created you to be in Him. We get to grow in our faith, and figure out our boundaries, and what we are really looking for.
Being a single person, also shows your self worth. It shows the world that you have standards, and aren't settling. It gives you the chance to let your light shine for God. Singleness also blesses us with the gift of patience.  Good things come to those who wait on the Lord! The wait will be worth it too!
During this season, we get to learn more about marriage, and the way a marriage works. Sort of preparing ourselves for what a marriage is all about, after all marriage isn't an easy thing, it takes work!  In our single lives, lets not forget that we are to wait on the lord and trust in his powerful and almighty plan for us.

Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you plans to give you a hope and a future! :)

Be thankful for your singleness!!

Scars

Why do scars have to hurt so much? uuuughhhh! I just don't get it! I know that everybody has scars, and that some scars are more bearable than others. Some scars you can't see, but they are so visible. I have so many scars, and sometimes I feel like they keep my greatness back.
I find it hard to love people who I so desperately want to love and trust, I feel anxiety all the time. I guess the true question is do scars every truly vanish????

That's what  I believe Jesus is for. He is our healer! He wants us all to be renewed in our minds and our spirits. I believe that with Him all our scars can be healed for good. Keep up the good fight, press on towards the goal. For He is Awesome, and I know He is holding you in His almighty hands!

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. - 1 Peter 5:7

They’re just scars. They’re not you. Laura Jarratt

Some people see scars, and it is wounding they remember.  To me they are proof of the fact that there is healing. Linda Hogan

Scars show us where we have been, they do not dictate where we are going. David Rossi

Remember that scars are just scars my friends, they don't determine who or what you are today, tomorrow, or yesterday.

Trust

Trust. What exactly is trust? If you look at the word trust it can be defined as a confidence we have in a reliance on something or someone, or hope for the future. Have you ever wondered why sometimes it is hard to trust? For example, have you ever worried and found it hard to trust in the Lord about future plans,  or a situation you're in or facing currently? I think we have all been there in some shape or form.
About five years ago, I found it really hard to trust. I was facing OCD, a disease, that I will never shake. I prayed to God to help me to some how glorify Him through this. Sure there are days where this will get the better half of me with all the anxieties it brings, but in the end, it has brought me closer to the Lord, and I have found an overwhelming peace, and encouragement in Him. I have also found an unending trust. I learned for the first time, really how to trust God, with something that felt and looked A LOT BIGGER than it really is and was.
Currently though, I am facing high school coming to an end, relationships getting deeper and more meaningful, plans for the future, where do you begin?! What path do you take? It seems soooo overwhelming sometimes! I feel like I am stuck on pause. I have sooo many "What if's" that I am facing!  I don't know what chapter to open next!!
The world wants us to place our trust in it, and all the things that it offers, but why? Everything the world offers is only temporary. I guess you could say that worldly trust then is temporary. Jesus tells us that if we put our hope in Him, and our trust, then he will direct us, carry us, and help us in this crazy little life! If you look at Proverbs 3:5-6 he tells us "Trust in the Lord in all your ways, and lean not on your own understanding. Acknowledge me in all your ways and I will direct your paths."
Psalm 31:14 says "I trust in you O Lord, I say you are my God." Amen to that! He is OUR GOD! How can we not trust Him enough to lead us to exactly where we need to be in this life, when He is the one who created us, and life itself? Sometimes, I think we question Him and our trust in Him because we don't understand the season that we are in in our lives. You wanna know a secret though? We may never understand those seasons... ever! So, until another door is opened continue to praise our King in the hallway, trusting Him and loving Him with all your heart! It may not be easy, but it is SOO worth it!

Psalm 40:4
Blessed is the man who makes the LORD his trust, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods.

Psalm 56:4
In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mortal man do to me?

Psalm 62:8
Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.

Psalm 84:12
O LORD Almighty, blessed is the man who trusts in you.

Christians unite!!

Is anybody else fed up with the fact that this world keeps shutting Christ out? Seriously people we keep putting Him on a back burner, and acting like He doesn't even exist any more.
We as Christians act like we have no say so anymore about what happens in this world. His world!! Why? What are we all so afraid of? Are we afraid of standing out and daring to be different? Are we afraid of persecution, or what others might think or do?
It disgusts me to turn on the news and watch a story about how our local Cadet got in trouble today for posting Galatians 2:20 on their white board. This Cadet was made to erase the bible verse. What ever happened to freedom of religion, or better yet freedom of speech??! The argument to this story was that that one Cadet isn't allowed to persuade others to their religious belief's. You have got to be kidding me right? In return many other Cadets posted bible verses on their white boards as well.
Wake up America! Wake up world! GOD'S NOT DEAD! HE IS ALIVE! It's time we as Christians and believers of the almighty God take a stance for Him, and stick up for what we believe in! Lets set this world on fire for Him until it burns brightly for HIM, and only HIM!! Christians have values and standards too! Lets let the world see them!
Are you ready to shine His light into this dark world with me?! Lets Go!! :)

Galatians 2:20

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Hebrews 4:12

New International Version (NIV)
12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

                                                                                                     Sincerely,
                                                                                             A very mad Christian

Praying for your significant other

Hey y'all its K! I just wanted to talk to y'all about Praying for your significant other or future spouse. Prayer is a very deep, and unique way of expressing our needs and wants to the most high and awesome God. It creates a deeper relationship with him.
I want to encourage you to take the time today to spend time in prayer praying for your boyfriend , girlfriend or spouse. You can even prayer for your future significant other too!

Where to start:

Pray that they love the Lord more than they could ever love you! <3:
-And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength. - Mark 12:30

Pray that they are faithful and obedient to Christ:
-John 15:14 "If you love me, you will keep my commandments."
-2 John 1:6 "This is love that we walk according to his commandments, just as you have heard from the beginning, so that you should walk in it."

Pray that they seek HIM first and put HIM first/pray that God will direct their steps:
- Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your steps".
-  Jeremiah 29:11 " I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future".

Tip:

How do you know that someone will be faithful to you? Because they are faithful to the lord first, and they don't stray from him.

                                                                          Have a blessed weekend!

                                                                                                                         In Him,
                                                                                                                               - K

Testing your faith part 2!

The testing of faith can help you bear much fruit, it may even help somebody else in their faith walk! There are many stories which we know from the bible about faith being tested. We even face many times in our own lives when we feel that our faith is being pushed to its limits. The testing of faith can come in many different forms, even many different sizes, but it all depends on how you handle that test that matters.
Let's look into the stories of many people in the books of the bible whose faith was tested, and what resulted from that testing.
1.)  First off the story that comes to mind would have to be the story of the Fiery Furnace. This story comes from Daniel 3:1-30. King Nebuchadnezzar casted an image of Gold that he wanted all of his people to bow down and worship, and anybody who refused to worship what he thought was a god, would get thrown into the fiery furnace that they had prepared, to be burned to death in the fire. There was three young men Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who refused to bow down and worship His idol. So, when the King heard that they had refused to worship, he became enraged with them, and ordered that his soldiers heat the furnace seven times hotter than usual. He also had his strongest soldiers bind the three men together and toss them into the fiery furnace. The three young men told King Nebuchadnezzar that they weren't afraid. They proclaimed that their God would save them from this fire and rescue them from his hand, but even if they weren't delivered from this, then they would never ever serve Nebuchadnezzar's gods. The furnace was so hot that when the soldiers opened the door to throw in Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, they were instantly killed. To King Nebuchadnezzar's amazement, he looked into the fire and saw four men walking around unbound in the flames. One of these men appeared to be the like a son of the gods. The three men came out of the fire, unharmed, not a hair on their heads was singed. The King then saw how mighty Our God is, and so he turned to God, the only true, and one and only God, and had his people serve Him, and Him alone.

2.)  The second story that instantly comes to mind when thinking of faith being tested would have to be the story of Job. Job was a very prosperous man. He was a very successful farmer, who loved God, his family, health, and many other things. God allowed Satan to take away the many things that Job loved because Satan wanted to prove that Job only loved God because everything in life for him was well, and he was prosperous. Job lost everything, and many people told him to stop serving God, but Job didn't listen to those people, instead he remained faithful, and still praised and worshipped the one true King!!
These two stories are very different, yet they are also very similar!  They are different, because they are different circumstances, but they both have the same kind of summary, which is keeping your faith in Christ Jesus, even when we seem uncertain at times!
You see, when our faith is tested it develops a much deeper faith, and power in Christ! Hebrews 11:1 states "Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen".  If you believe that Jesus will move mountains, he will, as he tells us in Matthew 17:20- He replied, "Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."
So, I guess what you could say I am getting at here is that when we go through trials, and faith testers, those help us to produce fruit. Fruit that bears much greater things! These little faith pushers help us to see where our faith is standing at the moment and where it is going. Sometimes we realize through these that we have a much deeper and firmer faith than we realized, it helps us to grow. We must remember too, that God NEVER gives us  more than we can handle. He is our supporter and he is carrying us all through whatever we our facing! Face that situation with God in the drivers seat, and your faith in Him! Who knows, you might inspire somebody to increase their faith level, or to trust The Almighty King that much more! You could help them get through a rough spot that they don't know how to get out of!
Let's let our faith shine for the world to see this week! Got faith? If so, how much? Is it enough? I dare you to deepen your faith! Let His light shine!
"Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing". - James 1:3

                                                                                                      Many blessings! :)

Taming thy tongue!

Have you ever said something about somebody or something that you regret saying? I'm positive that we are all guilty here...

Many people can't resist that juicy gossip that has a tendency to be nothing but lies, and in the end it just ends up hurting. Is there truly a difference between gossiping and simply talking? The answer to that question is yes. Gossiping is spreading false rumors about people, and false things that could hurt somebody, or even damage their reputation. Talking, can be a good thing if it is done to build each other up and not tear each other down (Ephesians 4:29).

( Read James 3!)
In the bible James warns us over and over that we should tame our tongues, meaning watch what comes out of our mouths, because it has the power to destroy. James tells us that the tongue is like a  very small rudder of a boat that guides the boat to where we want it to go, or like the smallest spark, that sets fire to a forest. You see even though the tongue is just a small thing that we have in our bodies, it has the power to determine who we are, and can even destroy who we are.

James also proceeds to tell us that with the very same tongue we praise our precious and beautiful King with, we also curse and put down others with. He tells us that the tongue is nothing but a deadly poison ready to destroy. .
But the interesting part to what James has to tell us in James 3 is that there is wisdom that comes with following Christ Jesus our Lord, and with that wisdom we have the ability to tame our tongue! All we need is to ask God to help us to watch what we say, and to know what we are going to say before we say it.

So...I challenge you this week to build others up when speaking and not tear them down. I also challenge you to stay away from gossip, if you find yourself in the gossip situation simply walk away, and say a prayer! Listen to the words of wisdom that James gives us in James 3:5- he says to put fires out instead of starting them. Lets extinguish the gossip fire, and ignite this world on fire for Christ our savior!
                                                                                                                            Blessings,
                                                                                                                                  K :)

Prayer of the week- Dear heavenly Father, help us to tame our tongue, and to only build each other up with what we say. Help us to have wisdom, before we say something, and help us to have good thoughts for each other. Thank you for your guidance with this and your wisdom. In your precious name we thank and we pray, amen!
